Wulik Reel
The Wulik Reel was inspired by the midnight sun above the Arctic circle. Since I was a young child, I have been fortunate enough to flyfish the wild drainages of the Brooks Range, which are filled with Char and other Salmonoid species (as well as their large furry predators).
The reel cage is made from 6061-T6 aluminum, and the spool is polyetherimide plastic; chosen for its impact resistance, temperature range, and amber color. I CNC-machined all parts on a 3-axis Haas machine. The reel uses a simple friction drag sytem and is intended for trout dryfly fishing.
