I designed and built my road bike. The frame is inspired by classic straight-tube European frames, with the added flair of a triple triangle and chevron bridge.
The technicalities of bicycle frame building taught me to design for tight tolerance stackups, as well as how to measure them using a wide range of precision metrology equipment. Not to mention I saw a big improvement in my TIG welding!
